Augustina Badea (ROM)

1988 Gander Memorial AA Bronze Medalist

Augustina was born on August 11, 1971 in Bucharest.  She began gymnastics at age 5, after seeing Nadia Comaneci on TV.  She trained at Clubul Sportiv II in Bucharest before joining the national team in Deva. 

After retiring, Badea coached in Germany and came to the USA in November 1991, where she coached at Westchester Gymnastics and Dance in Hawthorne, NY.  She's currently coaching at Jack Rabbit's Gymnastics Club in Greenwich, CT.
