Julianne McNamara (USA) was in the lead until the final event, when she fell out of bounds on her opening double pike.
Ecaterina Szabo (ROM) vaulted a tucked full-twisting Tsukahara. She fell off bars on a Tkachev.
On beam, Szabo performed a round off, full-twisting back tuck; a flip-flip to 2 layouts; and a double tuck dismount.
On floor, Szabo performed a tucked full-in on her first and last passes.
Jana Labakova (TCH) fell from bars on a Tkachev.
On floor, Labakova performed a triple twist; two whips to a double twist; and a double twist.

Men's Competition

Andrei Popov (URS) tumbled on floor a tucked full-in; a side somi to dive roll out; and a double back.
On high bar, Ulf Hoffmann (GDR) performed a Deltchev; Jaeger; and a full-in dismount over the bar.
