Am Cup Video Request
Due to a series of tragic coincidences (my power
went out, my mom agreed
to tape the meet but
accidentally taped basketball instead), I wasn't
able
to tape the American Cup. Would
anyone be willing to lend me their
copy so I may
copy it or I could send a blank tape if that's preferable.
I will pay for
all costs. I live in NYC, if that
makes any sort of
difference.
Thanks very
much in advance.
BTW- Is someone still
organizing a database of videos (lending library)
that
would be useful in an instance like this?
A month or two ago
someone requested people
send in a list of all videos they own, with
details
about them. It was my understanding
that the master list would
then be available to
look at, and people could email one another to make
copies. Any info would be appreciated.

Hi! Does anyone here have a copy of the gymnastics from Bracelona, prefferbly
that triplecast thing with all of
gymnasts, but any thing will do. I will pay
for
postage both ways. (America residents only please...I'm only 14, I can't
pay for overseas postage!!) Also, any non-collegic (I have most of those on
tape
already), gymnastics videos that anyone is willing to lend me, for any
major competition since Barcelona (except the 1995 Pairs
Comp, the '96
American Cup, or the '95 Reeses
Invitational), please email me privately. I
have a
copy of the three above videos, and America's Greatest Gymnasts (a
video by NBC TV, 90 minutes), if anyone is willing to
trade!! Thank you !!

Does anyone have a good tape of the 1995 NCAA women's national
championships?
I would love to get a copy ( don't
know how to copy them, so I would pay
extra if
someone could do it )
Also, if anyone knows anyone who is going to the 1996
NCAA's I would like
a copy of their footage
also.
Thanks

I
don't know about Kellee, but Scott
"competed" at the Stanford meet this
weekend. I was concentrating on photographing
(mostly Stanford), so I can't
tell you much about
how he did. The "open"
competitors weren't included in
the scores,
especially since some were doing compulsories and some were
doing optionals. I can tell you that looking at Scott and
Chainy Umphrey
competing on the same team solidified in my mind the fact
that there is no
"ideal" body type for
gymnastics. Strength-to-weight
ratios may be similar
in these two, but Chainy looks like he could crack walnuts with his
biceps,
while Scott....well, doesn't. :) Seriously, about all I can tell you
is
that Scott (along with UCLA alums Umphrey and Chris Waller and Stanford
alums Jair Lynch, Mark Booth, Josh
Stein, and Kyle Asano--I hope I'm not
forgetting
anyone) did perform at this meet.
Throw in defending NCAA champ
Stanford,
California (who have now beaten Stanford three times this season),
no. 5 Illinois, no. 10 Oklahoma, and a strong UCLA club
team, and this was
quite a meet! Results will be in tomorrow's collegiate
update.

I
believe his name was Shin Fujimoto, in the Montreal Olympics. Accoriding
to
my "Gymnastics Greatest Stars" video,
he had already broken his kneecap earlier
in the
competition, but wanted to compete rings because his team needed to count
his score. There
is a good, short bio about him on the NBC Olympic Web Page
(which I found out about from some kind soul on the
list...:)) :

1996 Internationaux France Telecom
Hi
all,
I just returned home late last night.
Following are
complete scores from the 7th Internationaux France
Telecom
de Gymnastique
held in Paris-Bercy March 2nd and 3rd 1996. I've divided
the
results (and reports) by M / W / R and Semis / Finals so you may skip
over what is not of interest to you.
As for the
articles, I did the best I could as far as notes since I was
taking photos as well (which were the priority). My notes are scarce
for the most part and I had to go from memory for many of
the details.
The photos are in the process of being scanned and,
assuming there are
no problems, I should have them
uploaded in the next day or two. I
have
selected 30 photos from the meet, including a
photo of each event champion
(finals) with the
rest being various athletes...
If I've made any obvious mistakes in
the results or reports, please let
me know.
DORY
