Grigory was born on December 29, 1970, in
Alexandria (Ukrainian SSR). He began gymnastics lesson in his hometown and
transferred to a sports boarding school, in the city of Lugansk, when he was in
the 4th grade. In late 2004, he accepted a coaching job in Germany.
