I forgot to mention before, the tickets I am offering are also SEASON
tickets, so they are supposedly so of the best in the house.

I also think I forgot to mention that I have the men's AA finals
as well.

thanks!

Subject: OLYMPIC ALL-AROUND QUALIFICATION

How do gymnasts qualify for the all-around from the team competition
if not every athlete does every routine?  Will the only athletes eligible to
compete in the AA be ones who compete every single apparatus in the team
event? The 7-6-5 rule should allow some athletes not to compete in some
events, which should make rules for qualification more complex.  I think I
have that right.  Any information would be appreciated.  Thanx in advance.

I think the most important thing that has been said by a commentator this year
was what Kathy Johnson-Clarke said during Europeans.  I don't remember the
exact quote but after Boginskaya hugged Piskun after her beam routine (and a
real hug at that, not a Shannon-Kerri hug) Kathy said that the Europeans really
support their fellow gymnasts and that this quality was lacking in American
gymnastics.  I aplaud Kathy for having the guys to state the truth on National
TV.

About the musicality in FXs, I wish there were some way to bring that into the
score, but it would be comparing apples and oranges.  It's opinion, really.  I
think the judges tried to put more emphasis on the dance with the new code and
that's all they can do, IMO.  Still, many of the gymansts are standing around
too much, probably to save energy for the extra D requirements.  I know that
Dina and Boginskaya CAN dance, because their previous routines were fabulous,
but they do stand around and aren't the only ones who do it.

And finally, the direction you work compulsoried has a lot to do with how your
equipment is set up in the gym, at least in my experiences.  You want it to be
as similar to the gym setting where you've trained the routine.

Think that's it!

I  just watched my tape of the American Nationals for the first time.
I had forgotten that Moceanu had a new floor exercise!  I really like
the routine, although it would have been much more exciting had
she performed the handspring double front mount she had
planned.  It was a very high energy routine, with good music
and choreography.  I think she should definately be considered
for the line-up on floor in the team competition!  This was a big
improvement over her old routine!
